Cathy Poochigian – Board Member/Production Director
Cathy joined the CC production team as Volunteer Coordinator in 2012. The following year she assumed the role of Production Manager as well as a seat on the Board of Directors. With a background in talent management, she has a strong passion for collaborating with others, especially when it involves making a difference in the community. Aside from Circus Couture, Cathy works as the Production Administrator for Cirque du Soleil’s KÀ at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino where she strives to “make things better” daily for 11 departments (Technical, Artistic & Theatre Operations) - all while overseeing the well-being of over 300 employees. Prior to her role in Company Management, Cathy worked in the Wardrobe Department for KÀ. During this time she was named Employee of the Year, 2011 for MGM Grand. Originally from Monterey, CA, she remains close to her roots by costuming students at Walter Colton Middle School for their annual spring musical. Exposing children to Theatre Arts has been a lifelong goal, as she has been working with the students of her hometown since 1999. Her inclusive demeanor is a direct result of being raised as a CODA (child of deaf adults). Acting as a liaison for her parents from a young age, this skill has stuck with her both personally and professionally. Circus Couture season holds a special place in Cathy’s heart. From a small group of tireless individuals to the 30+ members on the current committee – Cathy firmly believes that it’s all about the people; people working together toward a common vision, a common goal, to put an end to pediatric cancer and other bloodborne diseases. She extends endless thanks and gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers who have dedicated their time, sweat and energy to this extraordinary cause!
